Part I: Introduction[]
My name is Danny.
Remember that really trippy fearful game Polybius? It was completely nightmare-ish! It has paralyzing effects that hypnotizes you and will give you nightmares! The author of the game was truly by Sinneslöschen. The game was discovered in 1981 and there was a PC port made in 2007, purely strange. Luckily, that the cabinet was gone after some time in it's old years.
However today, in summer 2013, there's a sequel named Polybius II, with the same company Sinneslöschen that has been made. I refused to play this sequel, as this game is quitely similar to Polybius. Until then my friend send me this message: "Hey Danny, I found out Polybius II has being a very completely different game which corporates with very different levels and new features, I hope this will never paralyze you." I was really stunned, I decided to go home and check out this unsurprising sequel.

I searched on google for "Polybius 2", there was a link by just saying Polybius2.exe and the address was www.polybiustwo.com, the page just contained the image of the title screen of the game with the Sinneslöschen copyright of 2013, it was similar to the original Polybius title, but the in-game text font was Cosmic Alien, and also a download link in the address "www.polybiustwo.com/polybius2.zip" which can't be clicked, but needs to be written in the address bar.
After writing it in the address bar, the file size was 5 KB, why a game could have a tiny file size? Very strange... after the game finished downloading, I extracted it and I launched Polybius2.exe, the game started with a black screen in 5 seconds, after the black screen, comes the same title screen as shown from the screenshot, I don't know how to play this game, so I pressed instructions and it fades to white, and then a black bloody text "GO PLAY THE GAME." appears for 1 second and goes back to the title screen. I hate this game, it doesn't give instructions! So I decided to play the game itself, here it begins...
Part II: The first level - Stage 1[]
The game started with saying "STAGE 1" in 3 seconds, then the game fades with a simple space shooting level. I was having fun with destroying enemies incoming, until then the hypnotizing effects succeeded but no creepy sound effects happen, as i keep destroying enemies, a gigantic rocket came to crush the spaceship.
Then the huge explosion happens with a loud speaker-destroying sound, after the explosion another black screen with the same "STAGE 1" text, but after 2 seconds, "WAVE 2" fades in, I thought I have completed the first stage!
The 2nd wave of the 1st stage begins with a quite speaker-destroying sound with some black outlined clouds going fast, the enemies were also going fast and even the spaceship player itself! I don't know really what's going on in this game, i look closer to a really creepy face in the background, i thought that it was the first boss in the game, but it wasn't! It was a giant enemy who shoots giant lasers at the player.
When i hit him he gets pain and gets angry, he kept shooting lasers at the spaceship and i kept shooting at him, but after lots of shots he became outraged and caused a final attack, then the 2nd wave ends. Man, that 2nd wave was weirder and scarier than the first! I might pause playing it, however it has a automatic save system that allows you to play at the point where you are.
One day later, i asked my friend to come playing with me in my PC, and i noticed that the file space was now 15,0 MB, due to a huge size of the save data, i launched the game and instead of the 5 second black screen there's a really creepy backdrop as seen in the Username: 666 video background from Nico Nico Video, and has the text "HAIL MY SON!!", then the title screen with a familiar change, the Sinneslöschen copyright was gone and it replaced with "YOU WILL NEVER BEAT THIS GAME!"! I loaded the game and there's a screen saying "STAGE 1 WAVE 3RD".
I'm just hoping that this wave will be the last wave of the stage and hopefully there will be the next stage. The stage just began with the same layout of the 2nd wave but with no terrifying face from the 2nd wave. The stage music wasn't silent, but it had the Genetic version of the Selection music from Space Invaders Infinity Gene. There was a enemy which firstly combines into a fighter spaceship and it had a core where i have to hit it, the boss was hard to beat due to BULLET HELL. While i kept hitting the core, the boss armor began to recover its life, making it impossible to beat, but for luck when i was almost losing all lives, the boss armor refused to recover and it exploded, but not like the 1st wave. Thank god actually the 1st stage was beaten, the screen says "STAGE 1 COMPLETED, PREPARE FOR A INTERMISSION".
Part III: The first intermission[]
Now i am watching the intermission, which is complicately scary to watch, the intermission is actually a level, but then here begins the "shock", a group of scary faces fly around the screen and there's a typewriting text "YOU'VE MADE IT HERE SO FAR, BUT THE GAME WILL NEVER END, AS YOU'LL APPROACH MORE SCARY RANDOMNESS DURING THE 2ND STAGE, BE PREPARED...MWHHAAHAHAAHHAAHAA!!" then slowly fades out and goes back to the title screen. God, this is really ridiculous, however there's a stage select appeared in the title, which lets you start the game in a stage you have been going. For now let's stop playing this game, next time i'll write another story about the 2nd chapter.
Part IV: Alfonso, Alpha and The D Word (The 2nd Stage)[]
Me and my friend are back to play this game, this time we are left to play the 2nd stage, which periodically starts the twist. The 2nd stage starts with the text "STAGE 2 WAVE 1: ALFONSO", and i don't know, why there's a weird "ALFONSO" codename? Oh well, i'm gonna try to play this 1st wave of the 2nd stage. The 1st wave starts with a blank level with no enemies, then after few seconds, a portal sucks in the spaceship and leads to a colorful hypnotizing world fulfilled with flying spikes, and this is the first time i fail into this, then the 1st wave restarts firstly with "STAGE 2 WAVE 1.2: ALF0NS0", and this time the ALFONSO codename replaces the O's with the zeroes and the wave number is 1.2, thus made a checkpoint to the beginning of the wave, and this is just another attempt with the stupid fast spikes flying over the spiral, the stage restarts again with the same thing happened before, and then an inception happens, I FAIL LIKELY SOME TIMES!
But for luck, after failing lots of times, i finally survived all spikes and the spiral ends. Then there was a image of me taken from the webcam, and the text "This is you. The victim." appears, what the heck? Then the text "You're the one embarrassing enough to play this, how the heck you survive the spikes?" appears, i replied it with "WHO CARES? LET ME PROCEED THE GAME ANYWAYS.", then the text "Ok." appears and the 2nd wave starts with firstly "STAGE 2 WAVE 2: ALPHA", this time there's no ALFONSO, but it is ALPHA. The wave begins with a shit load of enemies incoming the spaceship, and they got lots of HP, so i couldn't pass the 2nd part of the wave, why would they do this? After failing for lots of times, the enemies were now with one HP, thank god.
The FPS then goes ultra fast, making the game itself challenging, there was a scrolling stage full of deadly walls that could crush you, i tried to get it past carefully but in the last part the wall triggered itself and crushed me. Then in the intro there's "STAGE 2 WAVE 2.666: 41PH4", replaced ALPHA with the 1337 version and also instead of Wave 2, it replaced it with 2.666, the wave restarted with bloody outlines instead of white ones, with a satanic figure appearing, when i tried to shoot him, he strikes back the bullet with a very fast bullet that would reach the spaceship instantly! Then i failed yet again, seriously, these idiots are really smarter than me! However i saved my life, wave 2 ended and the 3rd wave started, there will be another boss! :D
The intro says "STAGE 2 WAVE 3: DEATH", the boss was just a "retro" version of the Grim Reaper and i have to hit his head, his attacks is using his blade shooting lots of bullets and laser eyes. This boss was insane as hell, i failed about 50 times and finally destroyed him, however he revived himself with few HP, the boss gets his new attack: A gigantic fire breath. I failed again about 50 times and finally destroyed him, again. Another intermission was about to begin.
Part V: Geo Guy in This Game?![]
The 2nd intermission began with the same picture of Geo Guy dead in the floor from the "1ACB06.avi" video file while that creepy 2nd stage music from radel999's Bowser The Warrior plays, i was thinking that this game has made many cameo appearances in this game, after some seconds, the picture switches to another dead Geo Guy picture, which Geo Guy is hanged into a rope in a tree from a mountain, after some seconds again, the intermission interrupts with a text saying "TO CONTINUE THE GAME, GO GET 4EVER HERE AND MEET HER WITH ME WITH MORE 3 WAVES FROM THE SAME 2ND STAGE! I BET SINNESLOSCHEN WILL MEET HER!!", i was forced to get 4ever in my house, but she was from her american country, so i called her in the phone to come in my house to play Polybius II by taking a plane, she said ok and i was waiting, i close the game and i hope i'll await her coming...
Part VI: 4ever and Polybius II[]
Me and my friend are still waiting for 4ever, but it might take a lot to come, after 12 hours, she landed on a airport and he came here with her jet, finally she's here! Finally we get in our PC and...what the heck? The title screen has suddenly become cursed! The Polybius text was red like blood and the blue in-game font changed to the yellow one.
The cursed title, but it doesn't really look scary...
I was excepting that a evil character had done this really dumb thing in my life, now i'm loading the game and i am still on the intermission. The text said "FINALLY YOU BRUNG 4EVER HERE, NOW IT'S TIME TO MEET YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE", then the PC took all my friends into in the PC, then, I screamed NOOOOO and I sacrificed, however the text says "DON'T CRY, I HOPE IF YOU WILL COMPLETE 3 MORE WAVES YOU'LL GET THEM BACK..." and i accepted the deal, however, it's just 3 more waves, the stage begins with the "STAGE 2 WAVE 4: REDCURSE" intro text, the REDCURSE codename is a meaning of "Blood-curse", then i would think that my friends were just in the PC, being killed by some trap itself! Then here begins the 4th wave.
Part VII: REDCURSE (3 More Waves)[]
The 4th wave makes the game a familiar change, instead of white outline sprites, they're now in color and also the sky color is blue, also the gameplay is now in horizontal. There were some row of enemies incoming and the music was the 4th stage of the original Gradius. I don't want to think this level will be ruined by creepy sentiments, really. After i destroyed some rows of enemies, there are now giant rows of enemies, i got one row past and a LOAD of bullets attacked me, the stage restarted with the same intro before and i left off where the giant rows begins, i survived the rows and the bullets, and i got from a tripping portal, where leads to Wave 5.
The intro is "STAGE 2 WAVE 5: BETA". The 5th wave consists of lots of flying β's as enemies, the β can shoot themselves with β's, What the heck are these enemies? After 1 minute they become red and they go fast, one more minute and the wave is over, that was quick. Now i'm on the 6th wave, which is REALLY the final wave of the 2nd stage. The codename is OMICRON, which was the name of the 3rd boss of this game. Omicron is a monster boss that he always shoot you with superlasers and his body is a Omicron symbol from the greek alphabet. The boss had lots of more health than the 2nd boss and it was insane to beat this, i failed nine thousand times (oh god why) and i beaten the boss.
The PC shakes and spits out my friend and 4ever, finally i got my friends back to life. However that game is going on chaos since of the curse, these stupid tricks on me and even ugly sentiments, i have decided to delete the game, but when i try to delete the file, a evil hand slaps me and he says "YOU DUMB IDIOT, I WON'T BE DELETE UNTIL YOU WIN THIS GAME, COME WITH ME" and he kidnapped me, leading me to the 3rd stage, wait not! It's a intermission where it is just bloody hell, i must get out of here.
Part VIII: Curse you, Sinneslöschen! This intermission sucks![]
The damn game has captured me and took me in the 3rd intermission, which is a bloody hell that i must escape it. The demon comes here and tells me "Welcome, my slave, you can't delete me, since this game has truly power and i will keep giving you nightmares, forcing you to keep playing this game FOR LIFE!", i yell at him for bringing me here. The demon replies me to shut up and he kicks me to a pit, and then i wake up from my bed and i screamed like hell, it was really a dream, however i still recognize the same pc with the gosh dang same game, someone anonymous must have done it. But i can't see any friends! Where they are? OH WAIT THEY'RE IN THE PC AGAIN!!
Part IX: It was just a dream, or not?[]
I get up from the bed in 1 second faster and i sit down to the pc in 1 second, in order to get revenge on this shitty game ever made, i launch the game and instead of the text intro, it's Pazuzu's face from The Exorcist with a loud scream, i was really totally upset and the title screen became very diabolic, the Polybius II text became diabolic, instead of Bius Titel, it replaced with a scary, font named Rothenburg Decorative and the Cosmic Alien replaced with Agate Details, this game is becoming very ridiculous than before, for luck i am maybe at the last stage which was the 3rd stage.
The 1st wave began with the intro "ST4G3 THR33 W4V3 0N3" with a terrible background, the intros are complicately different than the previous 2 stages, instead of the outlined sprites with colors, they're bloody now, and instead of the cool sound effects, it replaced with scary sound effects like blood bites, loud screams, etc. WHAT THE HECK? WHY THIS GAME IS REALLY CURSED?!?! There are loads of enemies which were scary faces, but when i die a very long scary video plays loudly, then i am now in the next wave, which was "YOUR HEART WILL BE TAKEN OUT SOON.", oh god when i will escape this nightmare?
There's one enemy that is a giant hand who is trying to take the spaceship, i tried to escape it but he did catch me after 1 minute and i got a very, terrorizing version of that screamer when i launch the game, which a totally louder scream that could make my speakers explode! Then my PC is damaged with evil viruses, I AM IN DANGER!!!
The PC began to open it's hands, the screen turns to a terrorizing face and opens its legs, now he's a monster!
Part X: The Final Battle (against the Monitor)[]
The screen now says "FINAL BOSS", what the hell? My friend has totally lied about this game! It was very terrible than the first game! The computer had noises like whines, monsters, screams, like in the Suicidemouse.avi video! I pick a shotgun and i try to attack the monitor, but it has a very aggresive defense that could reflect the shots to me, i was injured and i want my friends back here, but the monitor says "YOU CAN GET BACK YOUR FRIENDS IF...YOU DIE" and he is close to my face.
It tries to take my face with a hand, but someone slashed the monitor's neck, and he destroyed it, the PC says his last words "SCREW YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY, I WILL RETURN!!!" and a normal PC spawned in the desk, without the stupid game. It was my dad, and he was worried that i could die, i thank him for destroying the stupid PC who had the posseded game. But now he was angry at me for doing this mess, now i was in punishment, after 10 hours of punishment, i could get back in the PC, and i got a mail saying "Sinneslöschen's farewell", the text is "Sinneslöschen is closed due the FBI recognized that the Polybius2.exe file was harmful for everyone, Polybius2.exe is automatically removed in your system to prevent damage to your PC. Thank you for helping the FBI." and i was happy, but, what my friends have been done?
Part XI: WHERE IS MY FRIENDS?[]
My friend and 4ever are stuck in the Polybius2.exe, but after few seconds, they are now free and they are back where i was, they are happy to see me again and they thanked me. Polybius II is now no more, and now we have decided to play harmless games more than harmful games.
